Collection: "In all labor there is profit..."
"In all labor there is profit, But mere talk leads only to poverty."
(Proverbs 14:23, AMP)
In West Africa, during the Golden Age of the Mali Empire, Mansa Musa fixed his eyes on the pursuit of wealth and expansion.
Accounts tell the story of Musa's rule over the Malian people, rooted in a sense of loyalty and respect, garnering high esteem. His control over the area's gold and salt mines, as well as the Saharan trades routes amassed an unparalleled wealth that he would share with all he encountered during his Hajj to Mecca. During the 4,000 mile trek across Africa, Musa and his caravan of 60,000 people spread gifts of gold, and shared their knowledge and faith with all they met along the way. Musa's dedication to the Islamic faith was shown in his hard work, as the recollections from his pilgrimage paint a picture of Musa and his caravan stopping to construct a mosque every Friday.
"Commit your work to the LORD [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance]."
(Proverbs 16:3, AMP)
